Accountability Post

Just a  quick post this morning. I’m going to be doing at least one of these a week from now on. Hopefully, they will keep me motivated and will keep you guys up-to-date on where I am with the current works-in-progress. But, before I do that, here’s a link to my post over at Mad Genius Club this morning. Topic of the day, the re-emergence of morality clauses in publishing contracts. Or, more specifically, why it is imperative for writers to not only read their contracts but have an IP attorney vet it before signing.

On the accountability front, yesterday I blogged here (yay!) and then spent the rest of the day working on Nocturnal Revelation. I wrote about 11k words. Deleted about 2k words. I’ll take the 9k word total but would have liked more. I realized I have one thing I need to go back and fix in the plot–something happens too soon in the book. It needs to happen, yes, but not as early as I have it. So today, I’ll move that scene to where it needs to be and leave a place holder where it was with notes about what to put there.

Current word count is just shy of 50k. I’m less than halfway through the book. So it will come in around 105k words probably. Of course, edits will change that.

For now, it is time to get back to work. Back later!
