Well, last night marked President Trump’s first State of the Union address. To say the reaction from the media is mixed is putting it mildly. The national media seems to have listened to one address and the local media to another. Not that it surprises me. MSM, especially on the national level is still reeling from the fact Trump is in office. Locally, the emphasis was on the positive points of the President’s address. That was a refreshing change.
On the blog front, I know things have been a bit silent here. Sorry about that. I am on the final push before Light Magic comes out next week. That means I’m doing as little non-fiction work as possible. Unfortunately, this is the blog that suffers. However, just to show I have come up for air a little, check out my post over at Mad Genius Club yesterday. What started as a post honoring two people who not only encouraged my interest in writing but so many others as well morphed into a post about those non-family members who help — sometimes by pushing and sometimes by being brutally honest — creators of all sorts hone their craft.
Today is my day posting at Victory Girls. I’ll admit, I feel like I’ve been shirking over there this past week. Fortunately, they understand my deadline issue. Even so, I wasn’t going to miss my post of the day for them. I’d gone to bed last night unsure what I’d blog about. There were so many possibilities after listening to the SOTU and the responses to it. Hell, just watching Pelosi figuratively, if not literally, shitting a brick was worthy of a post.
But the decision became easy this morning as I read more and more about what Hillary Clinton did 15 minutes before the President took to the stage. I don’t know if she was trying to steal some of his spotlight or if she hoped her Facebook post would pass without notice. She failed on both counts. She also proved yet again that she is incapable of accepting blame for her own actions. Even when she tries to say she made a mistake, she winds up doing all she can to justify her error. That is the gist of my VG post.
Nothing much other than I need more coffee and I have to get back to work on Light Magic. I am so excited about this book. It took more than one twist and turn I didn’t expect writing it. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
