Release Day +2 and More

Let me start by saying a big “Thank you!” to those who have already bought Jaguar Rising. I really do appreciate it. I also appreciate the great reviews that have started showing up. I had so much fun writing this book and beginning this new phase of Mac Santos’ life and career. It’s a real thrill to see others enjoying it as well.

I’ve been very busy this week, busier than I expected. Not only have normal “real life” things kept me busy but I’ve been on a writing jag unlike any I’ve experienced in the last year or so. From 0700 Monday to 2200 last night, I wrote more than 19k words. The thing is, that hasn’t been sitting at the desk all day and evening doing it. It’s been a normal work day with maybe an extra hour at the end of the day. This is one of those situations where the muse took control and I’m simply the vessel through which the words come out.

Oh, and this is not a book I planned.

Hell, it’s not even one that was on my radar.

This is a new project (I know. I know. I don’t need a new project) and one that has demanded I pound out the first draft before getting back to Blood Stripe.

The tentative title for the book is “Tearing the Veil”. It is urban fantasy. But it will be, in some ways at least, darker than what I usually write. The main character has a lot of baggage and an attitude in a half and revenge on her mind. We’ll see how it turns out.

I have a tentative cover–the title works. The image doesn’t fit, at least not the way the book is going so far. So I’m not sure I want to post it here. I’ll think about it.

So that’s what I’ve been up to this week. I plan to finish this very rough draft over the next couple of days and then get back to Blood Stripe. Fingers crossed.

And back to Jaguar Rising. If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, just follow the link or click on the picture. If you have, I’d really appreciate a review or even a rating if you don’t have time to leave a review. Those really help in the grand scheme of things. Thanks!

Life changed for Mackenzie Santos more than a decade ago when she woke on a slab in the morgue. If that wasn’t bad enough, then she started turning furry.

And that was just the beginning of the changes in her life and in the world around her.

Since then, Mac’s life has been filled with more twists and turns than a roller coaster. Her responsibilities as cop, mother, pride alpha and member of the Tribunal mean she’s seen the best and worst in both the human and paranormal worlds. . . and the worst is yet to come. It seems someone plans to celebrate her promotion with a real bang!

A monster stalks the streets of Dallas, It has targeted Mac and those close to her. Worse, this “monster” knows her. It spent years studying her, learning her strengths and weaknesses. Worse, it isn’t afraid of harming innocents in its quest to get to her.

Mac will do whatever it takes to bring down this new threat because failure means more than just death. It means all-out war between humans and paras.

Until later!
