Last month, I explained I delayed the release of Destiny from Ashes for a couple of weeks so it would correspond (roughly) with a new Humble Bundle. That bundle went live yesterday and I’m awed by the company I’m in. To be included with the likes of Brandon Sanderson, Kevin J. Anderson, Kris Rusch, Dean Wesley Smith and others is mind-blowing. The fact this is to help support a charity I can get behind as a parent and as a writer makes it doubly so.
Here’s a little information about the bundle. Called the Stars of Sci-Fi Summer, it’s been put together by Draft2Digital. It includes 35 titles. You can get all 35 items for $18 (although you can pay more if you like). There’s an 11 book bundle for $10 and a four book bundle for $1. The total value of the bundle is more than $300.
For those of you not familiar with Humble Bundles, the goal is to raise money for charity as well as giving back to the authors/publishers and Humble itself. You can even “adjust” how your money is split between the parties. It’s a great way to get a lot of books for little money and to help support a good charity along the way.
In this case, the charity being supported is First Book. It helps bring books to kids in need. I can get behind that and hope you can as well.
What else?
Oh, because D2D is working with First Book, many of the titles in the Bundle are first in series. For me, I chose Vengeance from Ashes. It is included in all four levels of bundles. If you haven’t picked it up yet, this is the perfect time to do so–and to get a lot of great reads at the same time.
One more thing. How long is the bundle available?
That’s simple. You have another 20 days to take part–and I hope you will.
Until later!
